OLDFIELD KNOTT ARCHITECTS

I have every confidence in giving this reference for Greg Nicol of Network Interiors.

His professionalism and commitment are admirable and seem to me to be the keys to insuring consistently successful completion of his projects.

Greg’s first project for a client of this practice required very tight programming of his tradesmen as well as liaison with a number of separate clients contractors to achieve an ambitious completion date. Not only were cost and time targets met, despite a number of clients initiated variations, but Greg identified and incorporated cost savings to the clients benefits, during the works.

Despite time and cost constraints on the project (a full floor fitout in Subiaco), the standards of workmanship and finishing were excellent. Importantly for fitout projects, practical completion was a clean cut affair, without lingering defects.

I have since recommended Greg and his company for several other projects and as stated above have every confidence in giving this reference.

APP PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Greg Nicol was the contractor for the fitout of the ‘Bin 305’ wine bar and restaurant for the Pacific International Hotel Group. This was a $400,000 high quality fitout within the hotel at 305 Murray Street, Perth.

Greg was involved with the project from the initial negotiations through to the agreement of the final account. I worked closely with Greg throughout that period and can attest to his competencies in the administration and supervisions of a significant fitout contract.

Greg undertook the administration of the building contract and the supervision of subcontractors in a highly professional manner. He attended regular site meetings and convened special meetings as required. His approach displayed a complete and balanced understanding of the building and design process. His relationship with our firm, and the consultants to the client was positive and the successful completion of the project was attributable to his competency in supervising the building contract.

He also undertook an office fitout for one of our clients and displayed the same competencies. This project was completed to everyone’s satisfaction again.

Personally, I found Greg obliging and his knowledge of the building and fitout process was of assistance in resolving most issues arising from what are traditionally difficult contracts. The difficulties of dealing with the accelerated program of a fitout and with the realities of contracting were handled with a high level of competency.

Greg was able to combine honesty with keen business acumen and gain the trust and respect of the client, consultants and subcontractors. The client expressed his appreciation for the service provided by Greg in particular.

I have no hesitation in recommending Greg for a similar role within the industry and would be delighted to expand on any aspect of this reference with an interested party.

THE BOULEVARD HOTEL

Network Interiors were contracted in 2010 to coordinate and conduct a major re-build and re-fit of an existing hotel into the newly re-furbished Boulevard Hotel, on the corner of The Boulevard and Howtree Place, Floreat

The transformation of this site was absolute, with almost all aspects of the original hotel re-designed, including the creation of the new internal and external spaces throughout the venue. Internally, this included a new central bar, verandah area, internal dining and lounge areas and pool table room. The kitchen and all other food preparation and storage areas were also completely upgraded.

Externally, a unique range of feature walls and staggered timber and glass screens were built to contain a series of interconnected outdoor spaces, including a timber decked, amoebic formed walled garden, water features and an indoor/outdoor nook with its own outdoor fireplace.

Network Interiors did a fantastic job in managing this construction and coordinating the many contractors and suppliers involved in the project, including a number with very specific requests and requirements for the hospitality environment (such as breweries and refrigeration suppliers).

Virtually every aspect of the build entailed extremely close attention to detail, with many different features and bespoke finishes involved in the design. In this area, Network Interiors excel – as their pride in their work and the quality of their craftsmanship and finished product is truly outstanding.

In terms of the practicalities of managing site cleanliness and safety, Network has no peer. The construction site was an exemplar model of building safety and organization, and the dedication of Network’s construction team was always clearly evident on any visit to the site.

It was a pleasure to work with such a dedicated team who were always willing to assist in meeting our requirements.
